About My Work

Hello, my name is Sarah, but I also go by Agu! I'm a digital painter and crafter and I have been an artist in some way for as long as I can remember. I am completely self-taught, but not without the help of some amazing online creators!

I love to draw cats, cute characters, and natural environments - they are what inspire me the most.

I take lots of breaks, but I've learned to embrace that. I believe stepping away from art is essential for me to love it fully. My creativity thrives without pressure, and I find comfort in knowing that my art will always be waiting for me when I'm ready to return to it.

I have two main projects I am working on. The first being my tarot deck, which is a long term project that combines my love for symbolism, story telling, emotional atmosphere and elements of my style. It has been slow going and currenly on haitus indefinitely.

My current main focus is working on my doll house, which is a project that allows me to express my love for interior design, miniatures, up/recycling, and the "feminine domain" as an art form.

My Doll House

Lots of Progress

I had put this project aside for a long while because I didn't really know what I wanted to do. I felt totally overwhelmed and not really sure how to proceed so I didn't touch this project for months.Lately, I've been watching Jenna Phipp's home restoration videos on YouTube and had been really inspired by the work she and her partner have done to their house so far. I love the overall vibe of her home - the minimalist yet carefully chosen tasteful design really inspired me. I've decided to funnel that inspiration into my dollhouse.Today, I began working on the flooring. I used the flat sticks that remained from the roof shingles as floor panels, and an old sherpa bag I wasn't using anymore as carpet for the upstairs bedroom. I also used some watercolor paper to add a backdrop - though I am irritated at the line that was created trying to fit two pieces together.I also began scavenging through my stash for anything I might be able to reuse as furniture items or decorations. I have a lot already to work with!

Getting Started

Started working on the shingles. I used large popsicle sticks I bought from Michael's and cut off the tips. I will probably use the long flat pieces as floor boards.
